Meet Dr. Harold Litvak

Recipient of the Greater New York Academy Foundation 2004 Distinguished Lecturer Award. Recipient of the American College of Prosthodontics 2006 Distinguished Lecturer Award. Life Fellow OKU, American Equilibration Society, American College of Prosthodontists.

Dr. Harold Litvak received his D.M.D. from Tufts University. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Air Force, taking a rotating dental internship at Chanute A.F.B. and serving as a Prosthodontic Officer at Beale AFB. Upon returning to civilian life, he earned a Certificate and MSD in Prosthodontics from New York University. A Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, he has been a tireless worker for the specialty of Prosthodontics and is past President of the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics and the North Eastern Gnathological Society.

He has served as Secretary of the Education Foundation of the American College of Prosthodontists from whom he received the prestigious President’s Award in 2001 as well as the Education Foundation’s Founders Society Award in 2014.

In 2010 he was the recipient of the George H. Moulton Awardee from the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics. Dr. Litvak is a Clinical Professor and valued teacher in the Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics at NYU College of Dentistry and has been an Associate Attending at Montefiore Medical Center. He is a Fellow of the Northeastern Gnathological Society, Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontists, Academy of Prosthodontics, American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics and a member of the Academy of Osseointegration and the American Equilibration Society. He has published and lectured extensively on prosthodontics, oral physiology, occlusion and implants. 

Dr. Litvak’s non-professional life is devoted to family; his three children, Michael, Cassie and Lizabeth, and three grandchildren. He is also passionate about Jazz, tennis, and the Arts in general.
